Wow, Richard, I’m usually pretty good about this. Anyhow, I don’t think I’m in
any danger since I didn’t actually click on any link in their email, I simply
deleted my personal email account in Outlook 2016 and then set it up again.
Goes to show you really can’t trust any email any more and by that I mean “not
any’ as in “not a single one” without carefully checking the address where it
came from etc.

Sieghard

I didn't read all of your message, but if you didn't say this, I want to make
sure everyone knows that message supposedly from Microsoft is a phishing scam.
If you followed their directions, you need to go and change your Outlook
password before you have allowed someone to access your account.
That message is not from Microsoft. Look at the address:
outl...@email2.office.com<mailto:outl...@email2.office.com>
and that is not a real Microsoft address.

Hi Terri,

If you were able to sign in online then maybe you somehow type the password
incorrectly on your iPhone?
Also, did you get an email with the following subject:
Action Required: Re-connect Outlook 2016/2013 to
Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com> after upgrade
The message that follows starts like this (I did not list all of the message,
if you haven't received it yet you don't have to worry about it anyways):
Earlier this year we introduced the new Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com>, which
helps you focus on what matters, collaborate effortlessly, and get more done.
As part of the Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com> upgrade, we have moved your
account to a more secure and reliable infrastructure.
Now that your Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com> account has been upgraded, you’ll
need to re-connect Outlook 2016 or Outlook 2013 to your
Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com> account to ensure the best experience.
If you do not re-connect to your upgraded Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com>
account, you may experience email or calendar sync issues, unintended
recipients getting added when replying to emails, or other issues listed here.

Now, this only talks about reconnecting to Outlook.com<http://Outlook.com> from
Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2016, it does not mention the Outlook app for iPhone or
Android. However, to be on the safe side, I am also going to delete my Outlook
account on my iPhone and set it up again just to be sure it all works
correctly. For the PC they mention two methods, one of them also is to delete
the account and set it up again, to me this sounds easier than the other method
and I'll do that.

Sieghard

Subject: Outlook App issue, I think

Hello everyone,

I have an issue. I think it is with the Outlook app, but I can't be sure.
Although, I wouldn't know where else the problem could be.

About an hour ago, I started having problems receiving mail on my phone,
or at least, reviewing it. I know it's still coming in.

But every time I go to the Outlook app, I am asked to sign in, because
there has been a problem with my account. So I try to do this, and I am
told the password is incorrect. But I know without a doubt that it's not.

Mail works fine on my computer, and I even went to the website and
signed in successfully.

I tried closing the app, and then getting back in to it. But of course
that didn't work. I will say though that when I did this, for a brief
second I saw my inbox.

I haven't tried shutting off the phone or rebooting it, because I really
wasn't sure that would help.

Any help or thoughts on this situation would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri
