Hi Pablo and others, I can confirmt his on my iPhone 6S Plus, it definitely seems to be an iOS bug. I am also sending this to Apple Accessibility, so I'm just going to describe again the issue even though others in this thread have done so:
When Voiceover is running and I start to play a Youtube video, the iOS time display in the status bar stops. For example, I just now started playing a video at 1:11 PM and I let the video which was 19 minutes in length play for about 4 minutes. I checked the time on my computer and at 1:15 PM I checked the time in the status bar of my iPhone and it still showed 1:11 PM. It then so happened that somebody called me while the video was playing. The video paused when I picked up the call and after I hung up it resumed playing. I checked the time at that point (it was about 1:18 PM at that point) and the time still showed as 1:11 PM. When I stopped the video, tapped to "collapse" it and then checked the time in the status bar it immediately jumped to the correct time which then was 1:19 PM. I use the latest iOS 10 update, I think it is 10.2.1, on my iPhone. It would be interesting to know from people who run earlier versions if they also experience the issue. Hopefully Apple can fix this, it is not a major bug but a bug nonetheless especially if it also happens during phone calls as some have reported. There are obviously times when I am on a long call with a friend or family member and if I can't check the time while I am on a call then that is annoying. At least this seems to be consistent and easy to reproduce, just play a Youtube video when Voiceover is running, take a note of the time when you start playing it and then check after a few minutes and you can easily see that the time display is not moving forward. Maybe t times it would be good if time could stand still, but since my iPhone doesn't actually stop the time it might as well display it correctly. I suggest others also take a few minutes to let Apple Accessibility know about this. My wife is able to play youtube videos when I have voice over off. However I have played youtube videos before and I didn’t have this problem. Maybe is the last IOs who brought the voice over issue? Hi Cris; I noticed that also happens on phone calls. Sent from my Verizon iPhone 7!!! I started watching a 2 hours film on you tube around 10:40 am, and when I was more than half through, I wanted to check the time. I was shocked when I found it was still 10:40 Am. As soon as I exited youtube, my clock corrected itself and showed me 11:45 Am. I tried to play other youtube videos and restarted the phone, but still got the same problem. Have anyone noticed that? Is it a bug or it is a setting? Cheers, Cris -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
