If your service provider offered a webmail client like Squirrelmail, Cube or whatever; you could do it easier that way.

I assume we're talking IMAP here. As someone else said, you can move your messages into the delete folder. Alternatively, you can turn archiving off and then you'll have a delete button replace the archive button.
