Hi siegards,
Yes you are right.
I think the same way.
That's why I ask your opinion.
For us, blind, the most important thing is really a good battery power,
VO at its best without a lot of bugs, great_accessibility and a síri
much more sophisticated.
Yes síri still has a lot to learn from Google...
Yes, I agree Apple had the duty to do more and better with síri...
Anyway, I just ask a new iPhone with a big screen, a powerful battery,
and with technology of top...
thank you.
cheers.

Hi Mario,
To be honest, as a blind user I couldn't care less about Promotion or OLED
displays except for the fact that these may result in better battery life in
which case I am all for it. Don't get hung up on a feature which will probably
benefit you very little if at all.
I wish instead of Promotion Apple would have announced this amazing leep forward with SIRI and
because of said leep SIRI is now better than Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Cortana and Google Assistant
combined and it's going to take all three companies 3 years to catch up... Well, I can dream, can't
I? Instead SIRI gets a new voice. Yes, it's a nicer voice, but really? Who cares how SIRI tells you
"Sorry, I can't do this" or "I found some results on the web about your
request".
The lack of SIRI advancement just about offsets all the other things which were
announced.
The other day I received a text message, actually an iMessage, and I used SIRI saying
something like "Reply I just sent you an email, please check it and get back to
me".
Next thing I know SIRI asked to whom I wanted to send the email to. I said "Reply" at the
beginning to trigger a reply to the text message that had just arrived, but because I mentioned
"email" in the text of the message stupid SIRI thought I wanted to send an email. Give me
a break.
A couple of weeks ago I asked SIRI "When is the Calgary Stampede in 2017". For those who don't know, the
Calgary Stampede is the biggest rodeo and outdoor show in the world with over 1 Million visitors. SIRI answered by
telling me the date of the next "Calgary Stampeders" game, I think that is Calgary's football team. I then
opened the Google Search app, said "OK Google" and asked the same question phrased the exact same way and
Google replied "According to Global News the Calgary Stampede runs from July 7 to the 16th".
When I just tried it again SIRI answered "OK, I found something on the web for When
is the Calgary Stampede in 2017, take a look".
Anyhow, we all can go on an on about how incredibly stupid SIRI can be when it
comes to asking such questions, but apparently Apple doesn't think the smart
assistant they invented needs to become smarter or maybe now that SIRI is 6
years old it is incapable of learning anything else so they instead they do
some plastic surgery to make her sound younger. Sounds like an aging actress
who thinks getting a face lift will revive her once promising career.

Siegards,

Thank you sieghard
Promotion scrolling, this was my fear with VO.
Sieghard, What you think.
apple is going to adopt this new technology in the new iPhones?
There is much talk in OLED, but instead, we can get the promotion?
Or we can have a fusion of OLED with promotion?
What do you think of this?
Thanks.
Cheers.

Hi Mario,
Agreed, I doubt it will make much if any difference for a Voiceover user except
that if it indeed results in better battery life we of course also benefit from
that. Here a bit more along the lines of what Daniel already pointed out in the
form of an article from iMore:
Apple's new adaptive screen refresh technology is going to change how
we look at devices If I had to pick the WWDC announcement that made my week, it'd have to
be Apple's newest display technology, ProMotion. Essentially, it makes the new iPad Pro
feel faster without compromising on battery life. But simply saying "faster"
doesn't do justice to how ProMotion is going to not only improve the iPad Pro experience
— or the experience of Apple's other computing platforms in the future.
Here's everything you ever wanted to know about ProMotion — and then
some. (Because I can't help but geek out about display technology.)
Apple describes it as such:
A new [display] technology that delivers refresh rates of up to 120Hz for fluid
scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content. With ProMotion,
Apple Pencil is even more responsive with an industry-best, 20-millisecond
latency for even more fluid and natural drawing. ProMotion also improves
display quality and reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the
display refresh rate to match the movement of the content.
In English: ProMotion makes your scrolling look smoother, text crisper, and
drawing virtually lag-free. And it does it all while saving battery life and
keeping your video from looking like a bad HDTV set.
Is ProMotion hardware or software?
It's a hardware component of Apple's new iPad Pro displays, though APIs in iOS
help make it adaptive.

Hi. No, ProMotion is a strictly visual adjustment. It will not affect voiceover
users in the slightest. There's no need to even worry about it. All the
technology does this tell the iPad went to refresh the screen based on what
you're doing with it. It's mainly meant for the pencil, and video content.

you could always buy the iPad then, install the iOS 11 public beta and try it

Just out of curiocity, what is it that makes you want to buy an iPad?

Hello,
I am not sure about your first question. As for the second question, no the
iPad will not support 3d Touch. The reason is tat the screen is to big. It is a
technical limitation of the technology.

Hi
I'm thinking of buying the new iPad pro 10.5, but I'm in doubt with two things.
1. Is voice over compatible with the new ProMotion technology of the iPad
screen?
2. Does this new screen support the new 3D force touch feature?
I did a google search about this feature in this new iPad, and what I read is
that this new screen does not support 3D force touch.
Will this change with the coming of IOS 11?
Please, what are your thoughts.
thanks.
cheers.
