I was at an Apple Store today and also realized that Honeywell now makes two
homekit enabled WiFi thermostats, they are called "Lyric Round" for $299 CAD
and "Lyric T5" for $179 CAD.
The round one is very contemporary looking with a few more features, the T5
is a bit more basic but still homekit enabled which means SIRI support and
still you can do a schedule and all and I guess in the US it is probably
$139 or $149.
The accompanying app is called "Honeywell Lyric" and in the description it
mentions that there is also another thermostat called the Lyric T6 which
seems to be specific to european countries and they also make water leak
sensors and a security camera. Apparently all these devices are homekit
enabled, but also support Alexa and Google Assistant.
Both of these thermostats can be found in the Apple Store app, go to the
"Shop" tab, then to "Accessories" and then "Homekit Accessories".
If anybody has either one of these thermostats and uses the Honeywell Lyric
app I'd also be interested in hearing about it.
I have had the WiFi thermostat from Radio Thermostats and they have been
working well for probably 5 years now, but especially for my house I might
consider switching to a homekit enabled device.
