I did have a Cobalt talking kitchen scale, but that thing only weighed to every 5 or 10 grams or so. Not good enough for accurate measuring.
I would be interested in knowing what other scale you had if it’s something other than a My Weigh or Cobalt. As a side note, I downloaded apps to the first two scales where I provided links to and while I don’t have a scale to pair them to and try out the actual measuring/weighing aspect, they seem pretty accessible as far as labeling and tabs and whatnot. There don’t seem to be any unlabeled buttons or other funky gaps. I may just pull the trigger and buy a couple from Amazon or BestBuy and take advantage of their return policy in case of accessibility issues. The one thing I noticed with the Perfect Bake scale though is that it uses the microphone to connect with the scale and breaks the connection with any bluetooth connected earpiece you may be wearing while in the app itself. I’m not sure if I’m going to like that. It would still be nice to know ahead of time what to expect if anyone’s already using one. Gripes with My Weigh durability and their crappy warranty response, I’ve been looking for an alternative. Unfortunately, for standalone talking scales, they’re really the only game in town.
