Yes, it does. However, and this is not necessarily a bad thing,
VoiceOver comes through it very loud, no matter what the phone setting.
Also, unless you use Zoom's own recording application, which is not very
accessible, you cannot hear what you are recording, so set the
microphone's level on the low side, as you can always normalize the
recorded audio later.

I went with the 6 because I knew it had an earphone jack so hearing
VoiceOver isn't a problem.
Thanks,
Richard

You can get around the case problem with a dock stub. But be ware,
not all dock stubs are created equal. I had to go through about three
before I found one that was truly passthrough. Unfortunately, I am
not the one who found it; someone told me about theirs, and sent me
one of the same model. Fortunately, they're very inexpensive--you can
get packs of two for about ten dollars--so if you get one that's not
the right one for your purposes, it's cheaper to keep it than to
return it.

It has a very, very short lightning plug, so if you have a case, you
may have to take it off when recording unless it is rather thin.

Subject: External Microphone for iPhone 7 or 8?
Hello to the list.
I would really like to find a great stereo microphone that will
connect via the lightning port to the iPhone, primarily for recording
videos, or audio interviews.
Some of the accompanying software for some of these microphones, such
as some of the Irig models, does not seem to work so well, and some of
the hardware can only be used in conjunction with their accompanying
apps.
The cost is irrelevant, I really would like to find a microphone,
preferably with a way to monitor the output through a built in
headphone jack, that will do the best job possible for recording
stereo.
Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations.
