One thing that may help a little would be to manually enter in the address and not to trust the app to determine your location. Also, If you are at a restaurant, for example, enter the name of the restaurant if you can. I have had issues when the restaurant i was at shared the same address as a gas station or other business.

In my experience, it’s as broad as it is long, how you approach the drivers: some of them don’t answer the phone. Some of the foreign ones who don’t have as good a grasp of English don’t get it somehow when I tell them I’m blind, insisting that I should see the car outside! Which can be a problem, since GPS tells them they have arrived when they are close to but not at my address sometimes. When your ride is assigned you will see a contact button. Double tap it and
you will be offered the option to call or text.  Choose text and when the
edit box comes up, enter the short cut and the phrase you set up should
populate the box. Then tap the Send button.

Unfortunately, the Uber app does not have a way of giving this information to drivers by default so, I do the following. I went into keyboard shortcuts
and created a phrase that when I type in certain letters on the keyboard’s
expands to read the following:

I am blind which means I cannot see you. I will be waiting outside to make
myself visible to you. I am a tall man with a long white cane, when you
arrive, please let me know that you’re here to pick me up by either
approaching me or calling me. Thank you.

Once I have a driver assigned to my trip, I send that message to the driver
and most the time it has been quite helpful.
