While any audio is playing, the two finger double tap will pause it whether it is a book that is downloading in the background or not. To Mark's point, if you select the device button, you will find the narration speed, chapters, sleep timer and clip buttons along the bottom of the screen. Once you have started a book playing. And am I correct that the book continues to download from some server somewhere as it plays? The only way I could stop the playback was to cancel the download. I tapped and swiped all over the screen during the playback to find controls, and all I got was other phone stuff. Is there someplace where there are commands for the Audible app? Have I now forever lost the ability to download to the computer if I so choose?
