Rob, IN my opinion, the beauty of the iPhone's touch screen and VoiceOver is that you don't really have to have a good sense of touch. VoiceOver will tell you when you touch the screen. IN fact, the touch screen is so sensitive, that you barely have to make contact before you hear what you have touched. I've worked with people with pretty severe nneuropathy, who have been able to use the iPhone just fine.
But, there are multiple Bluetooth keyboards out there that have very distinct keys so if someone can use a keyboard, they can use one of those with the iphone and spend only $30 or so. You can spend a lot more, but it isn't necessary unless you want a high end foldable keyboard, but they are not going to have as good a keyboard because the keys will be more flattened to allow for the folding. For those who just want the push button concept like what this $299 device offers, that is great and they should spend the money.
