Hello List,
I was never able to add a relationship with SIRI in iOS 5, e.g. So and so is my brother or My mother is so and so. Now that this is mentioned in every document I read about what you can do with SIRI I tried it again and at first it seems OK, I tell SIRI the relationship and she asks "Do you want me to remember that so and so is your brother". I tap Yes and then get the following message: The addressbook you are using does not allow me to change this. I am using 2 cloud services for my contacts. For personal use I use Windows Live Hotmail and for business use I use Microsoft Office 365 which is full hosted exchange. Adding relationships for contacts I have in either contact list results in that same message. I am curious whether somebody who uses Google for storing contacts gets the same message because if that is so Apple is offering a SIRI feature which is useless for just about everybody except those who use an Apple @me.com email where I assume this will work. I am not syncing my contacts via iCloud although I guess I could try that, e.g. turn of Contacts in the Hotmail account and turn it on in iCloud. I am not sure if this will screw things up and if anybody has ideas, suggestions or experience with this I'd appreciate any feedback. It's not like being able to tell SIRI who my Mom or my brother is would completely make my day, I can still go into Outlook and put in "Mom" or "Brother" as a nick name and then I can say "Call Mom" and it works. I am also mystified by what is supposed to be a new ability of SIRI. I read an example where they say "So and so is my favourite comedian", can't remember what name they used. So, I just told SIRI "Shania Twain is my favourite country singer". SIRI replied "I see". Then I asked "Who is my favourite country singer" and SIRI said "I don't know". Does this mean I have to add Shania Twain to my contacts first not withstanding that my contacts can't have relationships associated with them? I wish Apple would put some useful functionality in SIRI like "Redial the last number that called me" or "Turn Bluetooth on" instead of coming up with gimmicks that don't work for anybody who is not using Apple services. this But Regards, Sieghard -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
