I would use them again just so I could see if stuff like that continues to happen. Anyhow, if you stop to use Lift you also have to stop using Uber because often drivers drive for both companies so that same person could do the same to an Uber customer. But I agree that something like that shouldn’t go without consequences. Here in British Columbia guide dog users now have an official government Id and it goes along with legislation which I believe will allow for a $5,000 fine for a first-time offense, e.g. if a hotel, restaurant or similar were to refuse me I could call the cops and if properly documented and with [proof the business could get slapped with a $5,000 fine. I don’t often have issues here in Canada and if I do it’s almost always with taxi or Uber drivers and they invariably are either from India or of the Muslim faith or both because in their culture dogs are considered to be ritually impure. Occasionally I get a driver who claims it’s because they are afraid or allergic, but I assume in most cases that is an excuse. But most of them know that when it comes right down to it they don’t have a choice and while I am not at all a racist or subscribe to islamophobia or anything like that, I do expect people who come here to Canada from other countries and cultures to at least know about our culture and the laws and to respect them as they want us to respect their culture and beliefs.
