Hi Sieghard just a quick thought while you were away as far as I am
concerned the emails were quiet, but now that you are back we are back to

Sorry, Carolyn, I have to impart a little math lesson here.
"Percent" means "per hundred" which is why 3% means 3 per hundred.
Therefore, 3% on $360 is $10.80 and not $108, $108 would be 30% of $360.
Regards,
Sieghard

Three percent of $360 is only $108.
Best regards,
Carolyn

While I also don't want another credit card since I'm still paying the one I
have off, the Apple Card does present a compelling argument. My wife and I
already spend around $30 per month on Apple stuff, mostly in-app purchases
but also Apple Music, and being guaranteed to get 3% of that back in the
form of Apple Cash does peek my interest. $30 per month is not much, but
$360 per year is, and getting a percentage back from Apple related purchases
or Apple Pay may be notable. They did not say, and I'm hoping it is
addressed in one of the many articles yet to come, if it will be possible to
transfer the Daily Cash as they called it, or reward money, from one's Apple
Cash allotment to one's bank account. I was also interested in the physical
Apple Card they mentioned, and that there will not be a 3 digit security
code on the card itself. I wonder how this will work with stores and banks.
Time will tell I suppose.

I’m sure it will work for many people and there will be many people
interested.

I read the Apple news brief about their announced Apple Card today
and am curious what others on the list think about it. I'll say up
front that my interest in credit cards and similar financial vehicles
is first their widespread acceptance at the places I hsop and second
the amount of rewards I'm able to earn when using them. To recap the
rewards paid by the new Apple Card:
1. Items purchased directly from Apple using the card earn 3% rewards.
2. Items purchased from other places using the card with ApplePay earn
2% rewards.
3. Items purchased using the physical Apple Card without ApplePay earn
1% rewards.
I'm pretty sure I've stated the above correctly but please chime in
if your understanding is different.
I know we have members from all over the world but my experience in
the USA with ApplePay hasn't been what I'd call wide acceptance. In
fact, Since ApplePay has existed, I've only been able to use it a
handful of times at either a McDonald's or Walgreens. So while I
agree that 2% rewards for use of the Apple Card is pretty generous,
I'm not convinced it will be realizable at the places I shop unless
ApplePay becomes accepted in a lot more places than it currently is.
I'm curious what others on the list think about the Apple Card. I
understand about companies needing to expand their product offerings
in order to generate more revenue but I can't say Apple's efforts to
expand into News, media entertainment production, and financial
services generates a feeling of confidence for me.
