Joy,

If you are a subscribed user of FlickType, It is presented as an alternate
keyboard on which you do your typing instead of the on screen iOS keyboard. You
type where you think the keys should be for the word you're entering and single
finger swipe right when done. FlickType has a very strong predictive engine and
will announce the word it thinks you wanted. If correct, you simply start
typing your next word and FlickType will insert the space after the previous
word. If the predicted word is not the one you wanted, single finger swipe down
through other choices and start typing your next word when the correct word is
announced. You're going to have to invest some time researching FlickType since
it does have a bit of a learning curve but it is well worth learning how to use
it. Try reading this AppleVis article:

https://www.applevis.com/forum/ios-ios-app-discussion/introducing-brand-new-system-wide-flicktype-keyboard

I would also suggest you download the free FlickType and start playing with it.

Alan

Dear Alan,

Thank you for the background on flickType, ... sorry, but how does it actually
work please? I'm very interested in anything that allows me to "type" more
quickly on the phone but I'd like to have some idea of its actual usage before
trying it out. For one thing does it come up every time a keyboard is/would be
displayed? And what do you do to use it?

Thanks for any and all clarifications,

Joy
