You can set your phone so that you don't have to enter the passcode to
unlock your phone.
Go into settings and swipe right until you find 'touch ID and passcode'.
From there you can turn off your passcode.
Also, there are some small blue tooth keyboards that work well with the
iPhone if you find it difficult to deal with the phone keyboard.
I would not give up so soon. Give it some time.
