Carolyn,
Yes, you can ask Siri to send an email message, now, if you have the email
address in the contacts email address in contacts, but if not, you will have to
tell Siri the email address. For example, you could tell Siri to send an email
message to Janet Gross if you had my email address in your contacts, and she
will. Now if you don't have my email address in your contacts, you will have
to tell Siri send an email to Janet. harv...@outlook.com , you will need to
tell Siri what the subject line you want. Yes, Siri can reply to an email
message. Siri can also read to you new email messages.

I hope this help you.
Janet

Typing would be in Settings/General/Accessibility, then down that list
somewhere. After hearing all this, I might try touch typing. Can you get Siri
to do an email for you? I can get her to text, but haven't has as much luck
with emails. Also can you get her to reply to one?

Best regards,

Carolyn

Joshua,

It is always painful & frustrating to learn new things. Based on how good you
are with the Victor I know you will get more comfortable with the IPhone too.
You do not have to type everything. For texts, you can just use Siri.
Activate Siri & just say send message to name of someone or even a phone
number. She will ask what you want to say and when you are done she will read
the message back to you & ask if you are ready to send.

When you do need to type something, there is a dictation button to the left of
the space bar. When you touch it Siri says double tap to start dictation then
2 finger double tap when done.

And as others have said, turning on touch typing does make typing much easier.
You just lift your finger when you hear the letter you want. You will get
faster at landing on the right letter right away. There is a delete button at
the bottom right if you make a mistake.

I was going to give you directions on how to change typing to touch but
couldn't find it just now. I did this too long ago to remember how. Hopefully
someone will chime in with detailed instructions on where this setting is.

Good luck. I predict you will be helping others with their IPhones within a
year!

Hi, as a technology teacher, I have to say give the iphone experience a few
weeks to a month. Check out the basics podcasts on Applevis, or maybe someone
can be a mentor for you. It takes a few weeks to get in the mindset of the
iphone. If you're a braille writer, then eventually you will enjoy braille
screen input instead of the screen keyboard. You can set the typing mode to
touch tyling so you lift up on the letter you want. Give the iphone some more
time. You'll not regret it.

Hi to all. How do I unsubscribe from this list. I never should have gotten an
iPhone in the first place. I don't want to take the time to learn how to type
on the stupid keyboard on the screen. I hate the idea of having to type in my
apple ID when I want to download an app.
Stupid security. My flip phone was so much easier. I could just turn it on
and it would power up and away I would go. No having to type in my stupid pass
code to unlock my phone. I never should have let that article I read about
seeing AI influence my decision to get an iPhone.
On Monday I'm contacting apple to see about getting it returned and most of my
money back. With apple care and the cost of my phone, I spent almost $1000. I
could have bought a great desktop computer for that much money and it has a
real keyboard on it.
