Bonnie,

The Hadley school, which does distance learning, has podcasts to help learn the
iPhone. Also, National Braille Press has some books. The AppleVis site has some
really good materials. I have to say I had a couple of one-on-one sessions with
friends of mine who are whiz-bang iPhone users, and that helped, sort of got me
launched.

It would be nice if all the state agencies had programs, but if the other
states are like Iowa, they are struggling with greatly reduced funding, and
they use that funding to help their clients who are looking for work. Should
they have training for the rest of us? Oh yeah. But the sad reality is that
government funding is not on the rise. So: I hear you loud and clear. I suspect
there are people who would do training (for a fee). Someone else may know more
about that than I do.

Susie

I understand how Josh feels. I have an iPhone and don't use it nearly as much
as I could. I looked in to whether Ohio had any programs to help people learn
to use them and didn't find any. Unfortunately, even if they do have them
somewhere, I live in a very rural area so I am out of luck.

I kept mine and use it for what I can. I don't have the money to pay for
lessons and am shy about working with people with technology. Although I have
gotten over a lot of this, I am so afraid I will look like an idiot I have
never looked in to doing this.

I don't think Josh should give up so soon. He has family members who can help
not so much with learning but getting him out of a scrape which I don't have
because I live alone. With all we have heard about the iPhone, the one thing we
all know is that it has a flat screen so should anticipate a huge learning
curve.

Subject: how do I unsub from this list

Hi to all. How do I unsubscribe from this list. I never should have gotten an
iPhone in the first place. I don't want to take the time to learn how to type
on the stupid keyboard on the screen. I hate the idea of having to type in my
apple ID when I want to download an app.
Stupid security. My flip phone was so much easier. I could just turn it on
and it would power up and away I would go. No having to type in my stupid pass
code to unlock my phone. I never should have let that article I read about
seeing AI influence my decision to get an iPhone.
On Monday I'm contacting apple to see about getting it returned and most of my
money back. With apple care and the cost of my phone, I spent almost $1000. I
could have bought a great desktop computer for that much money and it has a
real keyboard on it.
