The recommendation to update referred to updating from iOS 10 to iOS 12.4 not
upgrading to new hardware.

Interestingly, my Verizon sales person told me that she had no plans for
obtaining any of the X mottles, but would wait and see what the next batch of
phones that Apple puts out are like.

I agree. It would be really better for you to update.

Also, the iPhone 6, won't be getting iOS 13, when it becomes available.

I have an iPhone 8, with an iPhone 6 as a back-up phone, and my iPhone 6, runs
absolutely fine, and much faster, on the latest iOS.

I don't know, why your friend told you, what they did. But i can only say, you
were given bad information.

Dave.

Hello Deidre,

Apple put a lot of work into improving the performance of older devices in iOS
12. I would encourage you to update. You'll get a lot of security fixes as
well. Also, it's possible that apps will perform better, since developers tend
to gear their apps to newer versions of operating systems first.

Best,
Anna
