We also went through the short supplies but things like toilet paper and sanitizer are coming back into stock, think that will happen fairly soon. for most people. But re the alcohol, this is one case when higher is not better. The 70% is best because it has enough water content to help break open the virus. The higher percentages are actually less effective and apparently the 99% is next to useless. Bleach water solution works too though so one could give something like a thermometer a wipe down with a bleach solution (10% is sufficient , then rinse off the thermometer in clean water.
