I don't use email threads, more than one email within an email, so I can't comment on this. I'm having no problems with voiceover losing focus with individual emails, as long as the annoying vertical scrollbar is at 0% for the top email & at 100% for the last email & if I'm within the middle of the email list, with the vertical scrollbar at the proper precentage corresponding to the email in focus. I'm using the native Apple mail appchecking my gmail & AT&T mail accounts.
