Christopher,
I'm also liking what I'm experiencing with the Outlook app. I'll know more tomorrow when I process my first batch of new Inbox messages on the iPhone using Outlook. I’m pretty happy with the Outlook app, but I’m still trying to get the hang od dealing with specific messages within a thread, but this is also the current issue with the native mail app, so I’m still using the Outlook app right now as my primary email app. I’m just not using my iPhone for email as much right now, since I’m not traveling and my PC is always so close. Because of this, I’m just not putting the Outlook app through it’s paces. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Alan Lemly Sent: Friday, May 22, 2020 10:03 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Experience of others with iOS 13.5 and native Mail app lost focus issue? Christopher, I'd be curious as to your take on the Outlook app versus the native Mail app. I didn't have much luck with the Outlook app when I first looked at it but that's been a number of years ago. I received one of those generic replies from Apple Accessibility about the native Mail lost focus issue so I can't say I was encouraged by it. I sort of expected a more on point reply to an issue I've reported at least three times and which has been around ever since iOS 13 came out. For me, after writing to Apple accessibility, I’m giving the Outlook app a spin. It seems to handle threads better but I haven’t decided if I like it better over all or not. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Gmail From: 'Kimberly Samco' via VIPhone <viphone@googlegroups.com> Sent: Thursday, May 21, 2020 12:41 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Experience of others with iOS 13.5 and native Mail app lost focus issue? Yes. This is irritating. I planned to ask this group about this but didn’t know the word for it which is “focus”, so thank you for that. So now what? Do we just wait for the next update? Write to Apple accessibility? Thanks for any direction. I have a gmail account and review emails in threads and the Mail app has been unable to retain focus on the message on which I'm located ever since iOS 13 came out. It doesn't seem to do any better with iOS 13.5 than it has with other iterations. If a new email comes in while focus is at the bottom of the screen on a much older message, focus is jumping to this new email. It also isn't keeping focus correctly when I expand a thread containing multiple messages. Are others still experiencing this behavior? Has anyone come up with procedures to work with this focus issue because I find going through my new emails each morning to be a major pain and time waster. Thanks in advance for your comments.
