Hi Mickey,
I'm not sure what future BARD features will occur as a result of their moving to the cloud but I know playing BARD content on digital assistants like the Amazon Echo will be one of them. Folks on other email lists are commenting that BARD download speeds have increased since last week's maintenance. I expect future portable devices provided by the NLS for streaming BARD content will also require cloud presence. The first time I used the BARD Mobile app to search the BARD website on my iPhone SE 2020, I was prompted to log in and my user ID and password were already filled in. I executed the log in and have not been prompted to do so since. You might suggest that your friend close the BARD Mobile app out of the App Switcher, restart her device, and try again. If she continues to have issues, suggest she write to nlsdownl...@loc.gov for assistance. They are very good about helping.
