There are rumors that TouchID may come back in some incarnation, possibly a sensor on the Side/Power button, similar to what is on the current iPad Air. I doubt there will ever be another iPhone that relies solely on TouchID. FaceID is a vastly superior system. I find it interesting that individuals who have never experienced FaceID, are always asking if a future iPhone will have TouchID.
