Louise, Did you see my email? The feature you want to check is in Settings > Accessibility > Voiceover > Audio and it is called "Auto select speaker in call" and you have to check if this is set to On, if it is not the call will not automatically switch to speakerphone. If you check it and it is on I would do two things: 1. Make sure your screen is clean and the you don't have a case which for some reason covers the proximity sensor near the top of the phone 2. Turn your phone off, wait 30 seconds or so and then turn it back on and see if that hels

The choices are Automatic, Bluetooth headset, and Speaker on my iPhone 13 Mini. I think setting this to automatic will give you what you want.
