Another rumored featured I look forward to is the ability to send emergency messages by satellite if no cellular connectivity is available. There are currently devices which can do this like the Garmin Inreach family of GPS's, the "Zoleo" satellite communicator and the Spot X Satellite Communicator. Inreach and Zoleo use the Iridium Satellite network, Spot uses Globalstar. The rumor is that the iPhone 14 will use a chip from Qualcomm which has satellite capabilities and this would be a pretty big deal for many who live in remote areas or who venture out for outdoor activities up here in Canada where often you have no cellular coverage. Actually, there are often emergency situations where people from Vancouver who are not at all equipped and capable go on hikes in the Northshore mountains just outside Vancouver because they see some nice picture on Instagram and want to experience the place and then they end up in some situation where Search and Rescue has to come get them and even there just a few miles outside Vancouver you often have valleys and areas in the mountains where cell coverage just doesn't exist.
