Three of my girlfriends have a phone that is much cheaper than the Blind Shell, and that is the Kyocera.

I think there is a newer version. You can go to a.t.guys.com and there are other resources for finding out about it. One is the podcast by a group called Mystic access. They are really good. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone On Feb 23, 2022, at 7:27 PM, Jeff Samco <jsa...@jps.net> wrote: In my work at a California independent living center a consumer asked me for cell phone suggestions. She is totally blind with no one regularly available to assist her with using the phone. I’m just not up on this category of phones as I personally use an iPhone with VoiceOver. Here are her wishes: 1. Will only use it occasionally. 2. Prefers a flip phone 3. Fairly tactile buttons, raised & larger buttons would be best; having audio confirmation when a button is pressed would be wonderful. 4. If there are menus, she would prefer a simple way of getting out of them; there was a previous phone she used that she could never figure out how to close or back out of the menus. 5. She won’t be texting, doesn’t need a phone number or contact list, never will use the internet, etc. I mentioned the simple 3-button Jitter Bug phone to her and that might be her best solution, although she would like to not have a monthly plan. So, any suggestions on meeting such a tall order for simplicity in a cell phone? Thanks, Jeff -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
