Apple typically won't do anything unless it works really good. On the one hand
you ask what is taking Apple so long, but let's remember who first introduced
Touch Id on smart phones and who first introduced Face Id. In both cases it was
Apple with Samsung, Google and others following. I just read an article where a
guy on 9 to 5 Google wrote that he bought the latest Google Pixel phone which
has under-display Touch Id. He handed it to a friend to check it out and his
friend put his finger on the screen and the phone unlocked. At first he thought
it was some fluke, but after locking the phone again his friend repeated it and
he was consistently able to unlock his phone. Not so great and I'd rather Apple
doesn't put something like that on an iPhone if it's potentially not safe.

One of my google phones has it on the power button as mentioned in my last
email, and the other has it on the screen. I'm not sure what's taking apple so
long to add this feature.

That is simply speculation at this point, it is probably more likely they would
come up with under-screen Touch Id which means that you put your finger on a
certain area of the screen and that the scanner is embedded under the screen
and it will read your finger print that way.

I read somewhere that on a future iPhone, they were going to put a fingerprint
option in the Power Button. I probably would like that, although that is not a
deal breaker in my case.

Attention has always been off, as I was instructed by others on this list to do
back when I first got my phone about eight months ago or so. Believe me, I have
tried everything. I don’t mind face ID, but I had better success with the
fingerprint, that’s for sure.
