I have no thoughts on the 14 specifically, but the pro models have the LIDAR which is necessary if you want to take advantage of the door detection feature.
I would check what Apple would give you in a trade-in and compare that with what you would get through your carrier. Note, the carriers often build the price of the phone into the plan, so check pricing carefully. I have the 13 pro and have no interest in the 14s.
