I think as iPhone users we really shouldn't complain, apple delivers updates to 
phones usually about 5 years back, but if they introduce something like Apple 
Intelligence which requires such massive amounts of computing power and 
probavbly also RAM, then to me that has nothing to do with planned obsolescence 
and it's no different than if a particular new feature requires specific 
hardware such as when Touch Id or Face Id was introduced or when you have 
features like measuring or determining how far you are from something which 
requires a LiDAR sensor. We should be glad that Apple at least still has some 
kind of standard with respect to privacy and they do as much as possible on 
device instead of just sending it up to the cloud where it is processed on some 
server.
