I don't think you will find in app purchasing for Nook; thank you Apple. Remember when you use to be able to buy books from the Audible app by linking directly to their store? Apple's insistence on taking a cut of all such sales caused folks like Audible and, I suspect Amazon and B&N as well, not to offer such conveniences, and why should they?
Interestingly, I just had the opposite experience as you did, Kiety, finding a book on Nook for $10.79, while the same was available on iBooks for $15. Choice is a very good thing, which is why I still hope Amazon makes the Kindle app accessible, since they generally do seem to have the best prices.
