There won't be a problem as far as I know since you are encouraged to use a PIN, but you can not do so if you wish.

Howa, not using a passcode or face ID is really a bad thing. Face ID is not that hard to get used to and really helps in regards to not having to type in passwords because face ID can be used instead of your password.
