If you're on the full iPad and want a case/keyboard combination, I highly
recommend the Zagg case. It's fantastic, and it alone made me go from being
lukewarm on the product to a lot more loving of it. I'll write a full review
in the coming week, but it really makes a huge difference if you're like me
and don't want the typing experience of the touch screen or the added
inconvenience of carrying around the Apple Bluetooth keyboard, which I still
own and will now only use for my iPhone when needed.--Joe

That's why I like the Tech21 options, they add a mil or so to the back, but
they are more than just scratch or dust protection. They will protect
against dents, dropping damage, nocks and bumps etc. It achieves this due to
the D3O material which you'll not find in any other case that I've seen.

Just a short note to agree that I really don't like the bulk added by Otter
Box cases. The poetic case is as slim as you'll be able to find. Of course
your other option is to purchase a smart cover compatible snap-on back for
the Mini which will protect the back side while allowing you to continue
using the Smart Cover.

Hello all,

thanks for the suggestions so far.
I just wanted to add a couple of things. I want to avoid bulking up the
device. If I get a case, I want something that is stylish.
With that said, i am not sure whether just a smart cover like the one apple
sells or a stylish case will suffice. Someone got me an outter box case for
the ipad III and I just found it added too much weight to the device.

I have purchased a case from STM. It's called the STM Skinny for iPad mini
and I truly love it. It has a smart cover type of front and a hard back. The
iPad snaps snuggly into the hard plastic frame which is lined with a soft
micro-felt interior. The front also has the same lining.
