The Alarm volume is set in the Clock setting when you first setup your Alarm
and as far as I know you can't change it with the volume buttons at least
not permanently.

My understanding is that the DND bug in 6.0.2 resolved itself on Monday,
January 7, so this shouldn't be related.

You might also want to check your alarm volume. I had a similar problem, and
it was because my alarm volume was too low to hear. I didn't have any
trouble hearing VO, but like I said, it was hard hearing the alarms.
I'm not exactly sure what I did to fix it, but I assume I brought up some
music or an alarm and then used the volume buttons to make sure it was loud
enough.
