If you are talking about the VIP folder, no messages are actually placed there. You added names to VIP. VIP is what Apple calls a Smart Mailbox. Messages remain where they were originally. VIP points directly to each message so you can access them without dealing with other messages in your inbox. I believe VIP only watches the inbox. Either way, just remove any email address you no longer wish considered as VIP to have those messages disappear from VIP.
