Hi Carol,

It is Gmail that creates and manages this folder, not Apple. If you use
Gmail in Microsoft Outlook or another mail client, or indeed if you access
your Gmail account using the standard view on the web, you'll see this
folder as well. You should be able to hide it from showing up in IMAP using
the Gmail website.

Subject: THAT VERY IMPORTANT FOLDER IN THE MAILER

Hi all,

It infuriates me that the Apple mailer tries to work out what are our
important messages and seems to place them at random in my Important folder.
When I look in it, I find most I've read but the occasional one I haven't.

Is there any workarqound for this, please? BTW: In case anyone thinks I'm
the only one having the problem, I am using Gmail with the native app and
I'm not archiving messages, just saving in folders when I wish.

I sure hope to lock down that Important mailbox.

Thanks for any help.

Carol P
