Hi,
Another rotor technique that I pass along to my students involves using two hands as well. It goes like this: 1. Place the phone on a flat, stable surface like a desktop or table. If that's not handy, I'll hold the phone against my chest. 2. Place the index fingers of each hand caddy-corner to each other, for example, left index at the lower left-hand corner of the screen and the right index at the upper right-hand corner of the screen. 3. Move the left index finger straight up while simultaneously moving the right index finger straight down, or vice versa, depending on which way the rotor is to be turned.

I prefer this technique to the knob-turning action that is usually recommended even though I can use that technique satisfactorily. The technique that I described above works great for me, and when I find the rotor setting that I want to use, I can then flick up or down with my right index finger.

Hope this helps.
Tom

Hi Troy,
Try using two hands to turn the rotor, kind of like swiping a finger on the left hand across the screen from right to left while doing the opposite with
the right hand at the same moment.
I was teaching someone who was having a terrible time with gestures and that
did the trick.

Subject: one thing I wish apple would change

Good morning all,
This is a suggestion and maybe there is a fix to this and I don't know
about it. but I have something that I think apple needs to change or needs
to make better. Because of the strong medication I take it kind of messes
with my hand cordination, my hands are not always stable so like when I do
the doubletap and hold to delete something sometimes I have to do it several
times before I get it. This morning I tried to do the roter and my hands
just weren't having it today so I had to use the keybord to change my roter
setting. I know I'm probably not the only one out there with hand
cordination issues, but is there a setting or something I can do to make the
jestures easier for me to do? Also if someone has a way I can contact
apple's accessibility dept about this please let me know.
Thanks.
