We have one of the new washing machine and dryer sets.  Each unit has a digital 
display that shows the status, where it's at in the cycle and the estimated 
time remaining.  Depending on the information from the sensors, time may be 
added or removed from the cycle.  Talking Goggles does a really good job of 
telling me what the status is and how much longer the load is going to take.  
The same thing holds true on the dryer.  For a free app, talking goggles meets 
my needs.  No, it isn't perfect.  Sometimes I have my iPhone 4 closer or pull 
it back to get the most information or even move it left or right but that's a 
small price to pay for not knowing anything alone. by myself with no one to 
look at the screen for me.
