What Christopher is saying is correct; I know because when we got our iPhone fives from Best Buy, they already were being set up by the associates there so tripple click home did nothing.

I think the triple click of the home button will turn on VoiceOver if
you're setting up the iPhone for the first time. If it's already been
set up, such as by a sighted person, without turning on VoiceOver, then
you will need to go into settings on your iPhone or with iTunes to turn
on VoiceOver and enable the triple click home shortcut.

Hmmm,

My understanding is that the 3 home button clicks only works after that
setting is chosen. Someone will have to turn this on for you unless you can
setup your phone using Itunes from your computer.

Am I wrong here?

The phone arrives tomorrow. As I understand it from ground 0 VO can be
brought up by punching the
home button three times in rapid succession? Also does VO remain active if
I turn the phone off and
turn it back on again?
