Hi Chris, Just to clarify, I thought aeroplane mode means you cannot use any data at all, either 3G or wireless. Are you saying that I can have aeroplane mode on but still connect to wireless? Andrew

I can assure you that you will not have any trouble. Only remember to turn your airoplane mode on, on your iPhone five, so that it won't connect to three G of American or British carriers and get charged an arm and a leg by your Australian carrier after your return as roaming charges. You only need to turn your wifi on after that and look for open wi fi connections, or connect to your hotel or friends networks. I am using an iphone 5 running the latest version of IOS, and was just wondering about any useful info I should know about taking and using the phone overseas. I plan to take my old iphone 4 over and put a sim card in that to use for phone calls etc, I prefer to keep the Australian sim right where it is in the iphone 5, so it isn't lost and thought a spare old phone would be put to good use. I'm assuming if I take the iphone 5, I can connect it to a wireless network and continue to use all my other apps, minus the phone of course? Since my original sim is staying in I won't be able to use it over 3 G just wireless? Thanks for any info you can give, Hope you all have a blessed day, Andrew -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
