I have some wonderful headsets that are one ear only, Many will record almost professionally on a large variety of recorders, although not on the iPhone. They also have both channels of the stereo signal coming into one ear. They are called headsets by the manufacturer. Most manufacturers I am aware of distinguish between the one ear and two ear types in just that way. Thus, they refer to them as a single ear or two ear headset. People are obviously free to call them what they wish, but I will use the manufacturers label for these in any communication to this and other list, while noting the one or two ear information, les there be any misunderstanding of what I am describing. s.

An ear peace is intended for phone calls and a head set is intended for music although I've seen quite a few hybrids that will do both so let's call those hybrids and we'll all know what your talking about. ----- Original Message ----- From: Andy Baracco <mailto:w...@socal.rr.com> To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Sunday, May 19, 2013 1:36 PM Subject: Re: lost my Plantronics M50 i think that the design philosophy here is that single ear pieces are primarily meant for phone calls, and they think that if you are going to listen to music or audio books that you will want a stereo headset. Unfortunately these series of earpieces or headsets do not start and stop audio playback when you press the talk button. I feel that is probably one of their only flaws. I also have the Motorola S 11 headset which is a stereo headset covering both ears and looping around the back of your head. The talk button will pause and play music as well as answer phone calls. If I can find a single earpiece Bluetooth headset who's talk button will also start and stop music I might consider that one over the Plantronics. --- Sent from Raul's iPhone - (832) 554-7285.
