Well, I'm obviously speaking for myself as a new user, so my ideas may not be the same as others who have dealt with VO for a while and are more comfortable.

My preference is for whatever is more efficient at conveying the information or lack of info in this case. I'm used to unlabled buttons and strangely uneditable fields in windows, and I know how to either move past those or avoid them altogether. I'm still not 100% up to speed doing this with VO. So I'd want an effective but brief description of the field/button that can be either bypassed or dismissed without too many gestures.

I don't recall whether each of those unlabled buttons was originally it's own individual field or if they were combined into one, but I'd personally want to accomplish the task with a minimum of flicking or swiping.

Just me, though. You'll probably get a variety of answers.

Chocolate is the answer... who cares what the question is!

Lisa,

Thanks. Yes, those mystery buttons display the text of the item. So if you had a sandwich called Peanut Butter And Jelly, there would be a big photo button that would show a photo of that sandwich, and below it one, two, or three text lines in a text view depending on the length of the sandwich name. Those display the words Peanut, Butter, and Jelly.

The complaint before was that people thought they could type in those fields since they contain text. You cannot. They are for display only.

I tagged them as hidden from voiceover, so when you explicitly touch them, nothing happens.

However, it appears that if you are flicking, you still have to flick past them.

I plan to fix that next. What is your suggestion? Should I add them back so they are not hidden, but have them announced as "display only text field"? Thanks!
