Another important difference to me regarding the iPod Touch 4th gen and 5th Gen is the sound. The 5th gen has much better sound quality. The 4th Gen’s speaker is smaller and it sounds very tinny sounding. When I had both in hand, there was definitly a big difference. The 5th Gen, in my opinion, is way superior over the 4th Gen.

There are also apps like Voice Dream Reader which can read text files, PDF files, Word documents and many other files with a high quality voice. This app you would have to buy and then you have to buy voices separately, most are $1.99 and a few are $2.99.
