Hi Chris,
You have to enter passwords to unlock the phone, to go into pass code, in
general settings, but in there, the button to disable the phone asking for
pass codes is dimmed. It is not asking for any further codes to activate
the dimmed button. So if anyone has any ideas, it would be appreciated.

Yes. You have to enter the password before you can make changes to the
passcode lock.

Hi,
My friends IPhone 4s asks for a password to be put in every time the phone
is unlocked, turned on, or you go into change something in settings, can
this be turned off? I went into where you would normally turn passwords
off in settings/general,passcode lock, but the button to disable the
passwords is dimmed, am I missing something? Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Regards.
Jim.
