I decided to try Feeddler with Bazquz.com. It is extremely fast and seems
very reliable after a couple of weeks of use. It also has more of the
features of Google Reader than any other of the new services I've tried.
There is starring and tagging, etc.

It is not free but seems very good compared to theOldreader and feedHQ.

The browser interface is not inaccessible but not perfect either. Still,
that's not the main method I use to access things so it doesn't worry me too
much. I will evaluate the site again before my trial expires and I decide
to pay. Still, I think this may be the one I go with.

I have pretty much stopped using Lire at this point. Although I love its
frequent updates, it seems there is always something. I was one of those
affected by the bug that caused old articles to show and this persisted for
a few days causing me a lot of frustration. I will keep Lire and may still
use it. But for what I want, Feeddler is really the best thing for me right
now.

I may also try inoreader since it is available now.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear TheOldReader changed their tune. Based on
their blog article where they announced they'd be going private, they were
pretty adamant that they weren't looking for money, resources or help. They
just wanted a good news reading experience and their lives back.

As late as yesterday, I was still getting 503 errors when trying to use
TheOldReader with Feeddler, and I've had lots of problems the last two or
three weeks getting updates and having my information synced.

I am trying inoreader now, and it seems to be a lot faster and more reliable
when using it with Feeddler. The web interface seems usable with Orca and
Firefox and Chrome with ChromeVox, but I'm still evaluating it.
