Hi, I have a 4S, but I just ordered an unlocked gold 5s. It's not going to ship until October, so if this continues or gets worse I'm going to have to do something about it. I'm fairly happy with IOS 7 but I really can't put up with this much longer.
I would rather tap on the speaker phone button when I need it. This is something I really can't stand about the design. Even if you're phone is on speaker phone and you move your hand near the mouth piece, the phone will automatically switch back which is also frustrating. I can't believe there's still not a way to disable this.
