Hello, Ari. I have a very old Windows XP notebook that won't read m4a files. The friend who wants the file also has an old machine. However, I decided not to convert the file for him right off the bat. I sent him the m4a file and will convert it only if he needs me to do so. You are right that sometimes, a file converted to another type may be degraded if the bandwidth of the resulting file is not as liberal as the source file.
