Hi Sherry,

The sensitivity issue and a bunch of other stuff was fixed in iOS 7.03 which
was released last Tuesday.
Just make sure you sync and back up your phone.
I also usually take a major iOS upgrade as an opportunity to clean up and
maybe remove apps I haven't really used, if you want them again down the
road they are yours to redownload without cost.

Once that is done, do the following, not all of it might help, but nothing
will hurt:

1. Make sure your phone is plugged in to power even if the battery is fairly
full this is not a bad idea.
2. Turn off Bluetooth if it's on
3. Bring up the app switcher and close all apps.
4. Go into Settings, General, Reset, double tap Reset Network Settings and
confirm.
This will reboot your phone, you will have to reconnect to your WiFi
including reentering your WiFi password.
If you don't want to do that, at least power off the phone after you empty
the app switcher, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.
5. Go into Settings, General, Software Update and double tap Install, agree
to the licence terms and then put your phone down and forget about it for an
hour or so. If the update has already downloaded it may not take that long
and of course if you are right there and you hear Voiceover come on it's OK,
but don't panic if it doesn't come on for a long time.
Alternatively you could of course connect your iPhone to your computer and
do the update by clicking the "Check for updates" button in iTunes. If you
decide to upgrade via iTunes which will give you more feedback, make sure
you are using the latest version which is 11.1.2, this actually seems to
have just come out. I wanted to check the exact version for you and when I
opened iTunes it came up and told me that 11.1.2 was available and did I
want to download it. I am just doing that now, so if you upgrade via iTunes
make sure you do the update before.

Once the update has finished and your phone is back up and running I would
do another complete power off and restart, if not right away then do it
maybe that night or the next night, but sometimes little things seem to be
happening which often go away if you restart the phone.

Good luck,
Sieghard

Subject: updating my iOS

Hi all,

I didn't upgrade to IOS 7 when it came out. I tend to hesitate to upgrade
any operating system, be it windows or iPhone. I like to sit back and listen
to feedback, good and bad, before jumping. And at the time the upgrade came
along, I was getting ready to move and would be without land line and
internet for a few days, so I wanted to make sure there would be no trouble
with my iPhone during the process. Well, I'm settled at last and have a
quiet weekend coming up. Also, some of my apps won't update since I'm still
running 6. something.

So, I have an iPhone 5. Is there anything I should be concerned about as I
do the upgrade? I've upgraded a couple times before, once with no issues and
once with a lot of trouble and having to restore the phone and all and try
again. I've also read a lot on this list about extra sensitivity of gestures
with the upgrade. any very good or very bothersome things about the upgrade.
anything important I should do before upgrading. I'm recovering from dental
surgery this weekend, so it's a good time to play with the phone!

Sherry
