Hi Katey, While I've never experienced this issue on my 5 S, I know several people who have.
A friend of mine and I were able to resolve his problem by doing the following: Oh, I almost forgot. Please be sure to backup your phone before you begin. I strongly suggest that you backup your device to iTunes rather than to the cloud--especially in this kind of situation. 1. Make sure your device is not connected to your computer. 2. >From the Settings menu, select General. 3. Select Reset. 4. Select "Reset All Settings". Please note that this is a non-destructive reset. It will not erase any of your media content or apps. It will, however, reset many system settings including VoiceOver configuration. 5. Once the reset is complete, make sure that the Volume option is not active in the VoiceOver Rotor. Never, never attempt to adjust volume via the Rotor until this bug is resolved. 6. >From the Settings menu, select Sounds. 7. Make certain that the "change with" option is set to off. Now you should be able to adjust VoiceOver independently of the ringer volume. Experiment with this to make sure you're up and running. If you're feeling lucky: 8. Attach your phone to the computer and use iTunes to restore from your latest backup. If all goes well, restoring your phone will not impact VoiceOver to the extent that it engages the bug. I recently updated my iPhone 4S to a 5s, and I was aware of the bug where you have the volume in the roter. I knew one should't go below 35% and that it couldn't go above 90%. IAfter my update I still had volume in the roter, and it was on 45% and wouldn't go above that! I didn't dare go below that. I still have my 4s, which I can go all the way to 1% to 100% successfully each and every time. So, how do I get my VO volume to go up to 100%? Should I sync my iPhone 4S with the computer with it up to 100% in the roter volume and then sync my 5s so that volume is at 100% and then lower it to say 75% and take volume out of the roter? Any help and insights would be appreciated. Katey Sent from my iPad -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
