Cheryl, thanks for setting me straight. I was mistakenly thinking that selecting Voice Call or FaceTime would initiate a call since I seem to be inadvertently initiating calls all the time with the Voice app. I should have realized that since I was in a screen to add a favorite, selecting one of those would do just that.
