Hello, everyone. Simplenote, a free text editor, has been recently purchased and revived by Automattic, the folks who own WordPress. It appears to be a very simple yet surprisingly versatile text editor, and it looks very VoiceOver compatible. It does not sync with Dropbox but rather maintains notes on its own server and allows them to be synced with computers and Apple devices. Syncing is automatic; if you type something, it goes into the note without the need to press a "Save" button. In fact, there's no "Save" button to press as far as I know. Alternatively, one can edit notes right on the Simplenote web site. Simplenote's home page is

This service, which allowed for Dropbox syncing, among other features, appears to have been at least temporarily discontinued. I am starting a new topic on simplenote because my viphone and AppleVis searches only reveal old posts, the most recent of which is about a year old. Simplenote might be worth a serious look. I am particularly interested in hearing from users for whom Simplenote has an inadequate feature set. For many of us, this app may be just what we need.
